Explanation:

1. passive measuring instrument: working without external power supply,
   batteries or rechargeables
2. active measuring instrument: external power supply, batteries or
   recharables necessary
3. integrating measurement : calculation of the radon concentration over
   the entire measuring period, i.e. determination of only one measured value
4. time-solvent measurement: determination of the radon concentration in
   fixed time intervals, i.e. determination of several measured values (thereby
   possible temporal variations of the radon concentration can be recognized)
5. short time measurement: determination of the radon concentration at one
   certain place at a certain time
