"Bonn Probe"
A soil gas probe for small probing diameters. The Bonn Probe was drafted and constantly improved in the context of many years of practical field work. It allows the sampling from sounding drillings which are made with the hand drilling stick (Puerckhauer) and represents, combined with the integrated packman system, an ideal probe based on the VDI recommendation 3865. It is designed for a sampling depth of 1 m below floor and for drilling diameters of 28 mm. The probe is conceived for probing radon. The usage in contaminated soils for investigating volatile organic compounds is only possible with regard to the appropriate regulations. In particular in aggressive media unwanted chemical reactions with the metal probe point or the rubber packman are possible.
The probe consists of:
- probe point
- packman system
- shank
- pressure gauge (manoscope) to display the packman pressure
- valve for setting a pressure pump
- air removal opening
